Your Child May Turn Out Gay If You Did This...........

For days now,Nigerians have shown both support and displeasure over the anti-gay law recently passed by the President. While most saw it as a welcome development, others felt the country as a whole has more pressing matters to deal with. Personally, i'm more interested in finding ways to nip the problem in the bud which brings me to today's topic.

According to an Amsterdam University professor, smoking and undergoing stress during pregnancy for a developing fetus can in fact impact the child's sexual orientation.

Dr. Dick Swaab who is a neuroscientist states that pre-birth exposure to nicotine can increase the chances of girls becoming lesbians or bisexuals and drinking or drug taking can lower a child’s IQ. The researcher also surmised that a boy with several older brothers has a higher chance of being gay possibly because the development of the mother’s immune system to have stronger responses to male hormones with each son born.

Not only does nicotine play a part in sexual orientation but so does stress. Dr. Swaab contends, “Pregnant women suffering from stress are also more likely to have homosexual children of both genders because their raised level of the stress hormone cortisol affects the production of fetal sex hormones,” he added.

Dr. Swaab says that the fetal brain begins to form at about the two-week mark, so any toxin that is introduced could have an effect on the unborn child.

The ingestion of synthetic hormones while pregnant can also play a role in determining sexual orientation as well, as evidenced with a group of studies done on women between 1939 and 1960 to reduce their miscarriage risk. The women who ingested the synthetic estrogen had a greater chance of bisexuality and lesbianism in their daughters.

Swaab concludes that even though lifestyle factors play a major role in fetal brain formation, genetics still holds the most weight.

Now my question is: How far would you agree with Dr Swaab?  You Do The Math........

  1. He just trying to justify his stands on gay issues!

  2. Things dey happen...Crunchy, shebi you no dey smoke?

  3. Yeah right! Abegii, if stress was a factor we'd all b gay by now cos most mothers are stressed up one way or d oda during pregnacy,so make he park joor

  4. Nonsense! It's sad how far people will go to justify something stupid! Hitherto, homosexuality has been classified as a medical condition and the people concerned go for medical treatment to correct the hormonal abnormality. Saying it's no longer a medical condition is like saying cleptomiania is now normal and acceptable. If you are sexually attracted to persons of same sex, seek help. Dont be deceived by the growing popularity of gay ambassadors. Bad things are always popular! Today it's homosexuality, tomorrow it will be incest, paedophilia, zoophilia, and all such other aberrant sexual practices...

  5. I don't believe Dr Swaab! Stress n nicotine? Everybody wants to talk. Mtcheeew

  6. Check out his name nau... Dick... Swab (forget the other a)... #Nuff Said
