Echoes Of The Woolwich Murder And The Nigerian Diaspora

Following the murder of a member of the British Armed Forces in South East London by two men of African descent with one purported to be Nigerian, who has been named as Michael Adebolajo, 28 years old, born in Lambert. He grew up in East London. His dad lives in Lincolnshire and this is the house that is being searched. He was a student of the university of Greenwich! I can only imagine what this means for millions of Nigerians in Britain. “We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you,” the attacker said, with the body of the victim lying just yards away. “The only reason we have done this is because Muslims are dying every day.” “This British soldier is an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth,” the attacker added, apparently referring to British military efforts in Afghanistan. The Social Media has been awash with reactions from different angles and I noticed a lot of Nigerians have been airing their views on the matter, expressing their displeasure at the recent development and questioning the attacker’s actual origin. We on the home front would love to know how they feel being Nigerian and within close range to the incident, how do they feel this would affect them individually and do they think in some way this incident will lean heavily on immigration policies? "I think Nigerians in Britain should arrange a protest on the day of this Adeboloja's hearing that no matter how his names sound like Nigerian, we disown him, that Nigerians are peace loving people and do not involve in killing people or preaching, hatred or terrorism." "Bullshit, That was definitely not a Nigerian ascent. He sounds Somalian. Check it out on YouTube."

  7. Why are we always in denial? In fact the two of them are Nigerians! It is a barbaric act that must be acknowleged and condemned. We seem to be in all terror incidents involving black people.

  10. This is a very sad situation in which as a Nigerian I am not proud of. I read recently how Nigeria university students are killing one another and I wonder if trruly the general saying "Nigerians love life" is still relevant. We have to know this has nothing to do with Nigeria in particular, the entire world is going crazy and people are loosing their minds. Am sure we have all heard about the recent blast in US by two brothers, and many more of such incidents. Kids all over the world are getting more involved in criminal acts. The entire world is raising more criminals. ...I dont know what the worrld is turning into.

  12. Did you know that 16 out of the 541 British athletes at the 2012 Olympics Games were Nigerians?
Phillips Idowu, James Dasaolu, Andrew Osagie, Lawrence Okoye, Abdul Buhari, Abiodun Oyepitan, Anyika Onuora, Margaret Adeoye, Christine Ohuruogu, Marilyn Okoro, Eniola Aluko, Temitope Fagbenle, Anthony Ogoro, Anthony Joshua, Peter Bakare and Dami Bakare. All represented Britain at the Olympics and WERE NEVER referred to as BRITISH/NIGERIANS!!! They were simply British Athletes.
We are energetic and industrious and no amount of propaganda by the media can take away our PRIDE.
If we are now being called British Nigerians so be it WE ARE PROUD TO BE !!!

  16. I still believe that Gods purpose for man has been totally misunderstood by Man. God`s purpose for man is continunity not destruction. The problem is Man has refused to look inward into himself inorder to difuse all the bad time bomb waiting to explode inside of him due to the ills of external living which he has buried inside of him. We need to untie our wondering minds and preserve it. If not for God for the purpose of keeping a suitable world for our offsprings to inhibit. I bet u nobody wants human existence to end with him.

Finally we are enslaved to religion and some erroneous doctrines. Religion has occupied our hearts but self realization is the pursuit in it. I bet you islamic will not applaud such act neither will nigerians in UK. We all need to think. What re we to think? Why are you on Earth. What is your purpose here?
