What Does Alomo Cure?

I can only lay claim to the fact that Alomo has some medicinal components and it also contains alcohol but i can't equivocally give it a single name like the way i'll call Cocacola a soda and call Guinness Malt a malt beverage. Biko What is Alomo? What disease does it cure? what are its real components? and most importantly why do Agberos prefer it?
